Our company has decided to strengthen the safety management system and quality of its products by applying the BRC-Standard for Food standard. This Standard is combined with existing certification systems of the company, ISO9001:2008 and ISO22000:2005.
The BRC-Standard for Food is a Technical Standard which was issued by the British Retail Agency (British Retail Consortium) and it’s addressed to companies that produce products under their own brand names (such as the brand SERANO) and private label, for exportation and products destined for large retailers chains (super markets). This Standard is now a major asset to satisfy the most demanding markets to promote its products abroad.
The application of the new Standard has started from March 2015 and successfully achieved the full standards, as a company, and obtained the certification from the BRC. The certification audit of BRC will run in parallel with that of the existing systems ISO9001: 2008 and ISO22000: 2005 on 23 and April 24, 2015. The certification process involves checking that the firm complies with the legal requirements relating to the safety and quality of its products, controlling logistics (facilities and equipment), control of the food safety management system and its implementation by the market and the receipt of raw materials to the distribution and sale of final products.
